North London’s Girl Ray, barely out of their A-Levels, have dropped the video for their debut tune ‘Trouble’, which is scheduled for a 7” release on November 25 with Moshi Moshi Records. While the deceitfully blissful indie pop tune uses coo-ing vocals to depict “apathy and hating yourself for trying to win pointless arguments in snakey ways’, the video’s a tribute to a long-standing British tradition which is slowly dying out; the early morning sports game in the field round the back, jumpers for goalposts. It’s a lovely and endearing thing. ‘We’re very confused about sport in general and that definitely shone through.’

Girl Ray are working on their debut album, penned for a Spring 2017 release, and are playing the Village Underground, London, tomorrow (31/10) with Slow Club. Watch the video for ‘Trouble’ below:
