Ramsbottom Festival is a new (its only around for one year!) and quirky festival set in the beautiful northwest countryside. It includes the 3 things I love the most in this world- crazy live music, beautiful nature and local beer. The music is something to be raving about. Ramsbottom Festival has the best mix of new emerging musicians, established international artists and amazing DJ’s. The festival itself takes place at Ramsbottom Cricket Club, which is certainly odd, but it’s actually a perfect place to hold a small but friendly festival like this one.
Living half a mile down the road from Ramsbottom, I was so happy to find out the town was planning a festival. I was even happier when I found out last years act were Kid British, The Waterboys and The Travelling Band (a favourite of mine- so amazing live!). Ramsbottom Fest was so amazing last year; I really think this year is going to be even better looking at the line up! And what possibly makes it better, is the fabulous local beers they have to offer. Nothing beats a good, local-brewed beer, listening to some great bands and relaxing on a blanket surrounded by Lancashire hills.
This years acts are something to go crazy about. The 8 headline acts are:
Inspiral Carpets, I Am Kloot and Roddy Frame.
And they really are going to be amazing. I was thrusted a Seth Lakeman CD by my best friend when I found out he was playing at 2 of the festivals I am going to this summer, and wow, I really cannot wait to see him live. His “nu-folk” style of music is something I have always wanted to see live. Something that I can dance to and let my self go to. Another band I am literally counting off the days to see is the Janice Graham Band. They have such a great, funky sound and I cannot wait to be at the front of the stage dancing my legs off to them.
Ramsbottom Festival is going to be a massive success, and everyone should get down and check out what a small little town in Lancashire can offer. You can get tickets here or by ringing 0844 8842920
