Boy, it sure is a good thing rock and roll never died, ain’t it? Then we wouldn’t have this ugly beast of a single. The Kent boys we unveiled just last month have just dropped their new single, ‘Gunblade’, and it’s a mess.

Here Inevitable Daydream have taken influence from fellow scene lads Gang and Demob Happy in this psychedelic mess that veers from hazy moping to screaming grunge, guitars so big they don’t just cut through the fog, they bloody piss all over it. None of the winding riffs from previous single ‘Brown Acid’ are here, just a goddamn dirty storm. Kyuss bugging out on a pissed off comedown.

With each new song the Daydream boys get heavier and heavier, eventually they’ll have a whole album of songs that can outweigh Black Sabbath. ‘Gunblade’ comes out on cassette 29 April through Sexx Tapes, with the b-side ‘Drive All Night’. Celebrate the release day at Drakes, Maidstone, as part of Maidstone Fringe Festival and watch you don’t get kicked in the teeth by all them riffs.
